Liz Gillis is such a great leader at Peak. Her hard work has pushed her students to earn some of the highest CFA scores in all of Uplift and her students have grown tremendously emotionally throughout the year. Liz is wonderful to work with because even though she is an amazing teacher she is so humble and always looking for ways to get even better.

Jay Schaertl has stepped in where needed in numerous areas- he helped take excellent photos for the Seniors. He goes above and beyond to ensure our scholars and school in general has what it needs. He has communicated to all stakeholders when needed and necessary.

Andy has does a fabulous job of ensuring our advisory classes have effective and engaging lessons. In addition, he is always helpful and does whatever it takes to ensure culture is supported in school. He has written great IB lessons for our scholars through Advisory.

Rodney Frazier

Mr. Frazier has consistently gone above and beyond in all that he does. He often works without taking breaks unless made to do so and is a vital part in many of the classrooms because he works with our struggling scholars until he knows they have reached excellence. In addition, he builds relationships with scholars and works with other teachers to help them with their scholars in academic and social areas.

Adisa Ganic

Adisa has been able to rally scholars together for great purposes on numerous occasions. For example, she was able to get scholars to participate in the Mayor’s intern program among several other programs. Most recently when told at the last minute, she pulled together scholars for a Teen Summit at City Council over the weekend.

Wendy Chen

April 2012

Wendy continues to work hard every day to ensure that her kinder friends are ready for first grade. She is always asking for help on how to reach scholars and coninuously ramping her classroom to find out what works best. On top of all of that she is always a great support and friend to her coworkers when they need it. Her willingness to go above and beyond is truly recognizable. We can't imagine a Peak without Wendy!

Sara Ortega

Sara teaches more classes than most. In addition to a heavy load, she took initiative in implementing Revolution Prep for 8th grade scholars. She is currently collaborating with Rachel Sharpe to layout 8th grade EAL curriculum for Uplift next year.

Dionne Johnson

April 2012

Dionne has worked really hard to ensure scholar success. Along with classroom duties, Dionne was places in charge of the Junior/Senior Prom as well as coordinating the senior trip with other senior teachers. She gives much of her personal time to making sure our scholars have a great high school experience, and has a great attitude.
